Leap Wallet

Celestials bring the same clarity to crypto as DNS. You type google.com, not 64.233.162.101, to reach Google. DNS translates a simple name into the right destination. With Celestials you can use a name like alice.i, and Leap resolves it to the correct address across supported networks - so you send by name, not by hex.

About Leap Wallet

Leap Wallet is a non-custodial multichain wallet focused on the Cosmos ecosystem. It's available as a browser extension and mobile apps (iOS/Android). Leap lets users swap, transfer, stake, manage NFTs, and connect to dApps across 200+ Cosmos chains, with features like in-wallet swaps, push notifications, and a built-in dApp browser.

What users can do in Leap today

  • Send to a Celestial ID: Type a name like alice.i in the recipient field and Leap resolves it to the address.

Use a Celestial ID in the Send menu

Try it now

Get started:

  • Go to https://celestials.id
  • Search for a name and start an auction
  • Link your addresses to your .i name
  • In Leap, send to your name (e.g., yourname.i)

How resolution works

When a Celestial ID (e.g., alice.i) is entered in the Send recipient field:

  1. The input is validated as a Celestial ID (name ending in .i).
  2. A resolver request is made to retrieve the address.
  3. The resolver returns the address when available.
  4. The UI displays the resolved address; sending proceeds when a valid address is present.

Endpoints commonly involved:

See API Overview for request/response examples and additional endpoints.

Proxy Architecture

Wallets integrations usually prefer routing resolver requests through their own backend, which can act as a proxy to the Celestials API. This pattern can improve security and reliability by enabling input validation, rate limiting, DoS shielding, consistent error handling, and server‑side caching before responses reach clients.

FAQ

  • How do I get my own .i name? Visit https://celestials.id, search for a name, start an auction, then link your addresses.
  • Is this service free? Registration price depends on name length; wallet lookups are free.
  • What happens if I mistype a name? Leap shows the resolved address before you send; if a name can't be resolved, you won't be able to continue.
  • Is this secure? Yes - name-to-address links use cryptographic signatures and Leap shows the final address before you send.
